Why Do Girls Have to Wear Lingerie to Play Football?

Women may not be as physically strong as men, but that does not mean they can not play sports. Football is a huge male dominated sport that is believed women know nothing about and definitely cant play. This is one hundred percent false. I am personally friends with a few girls on the Baltimore charm lingerie football league, and they are very very good at what they do. They work just as hard as an NFL player. I have worked out with them and they do the same serious football drills and training that male football players do.These women are very pretty and by all means sexy, but dont let that fool you. They are also very very strong powerful women who dont just want to be looked at as tough sex symbols. Most of their fan base is males. In my eyes, this is not because they like to go to the games to watch the hard hitting football and hard work being performed by the women, its because the girls are, in a sense, fighting each other in sexy reveling lingerie. To women watching this, or at lease me, think that these are powerful strong women playing a male dominating sport and are proving that we women can play just as hard as males. It is wrong that in order to play on this team the women have to be degraded and put in these sexy outfits just to get recognized for being athlets or even have a team at all. Even though women playing football and it being streamed live on TV is a step forward, we take 2 steps back because the women are looked at as sex symbols and not respected as a football player. It makes me think, if they werent in lingerie, would the womens football teams still exsist? Its a sad answer, but odds are probably not.

Growing to Fast!

Young girls in today's society are very pressured to grow up faster then they should. Girls as young as 10 to 14 years old are wearing makeup, dressing up in mini skirts and tube tops, and high heels. Girls this young should not want to be wearing makeup and dressing up to impress the boys, they should be outside playing with the boys, jumping rope, or simple fun kid games. Even when a girl plays with a barbie or a brat doll, they are faced with this beautiful made up doll that they try to idealize because its whats popular. Another thing that has a huge impact on young girls is there musical idols. I know when I was a young girl, my ideal was Brittany Spears and Christina. Spears was only 16 when her hit song "Hit Me Baby One More Time" came out and in this video she was very sexualized to entertain the male fantasy. When young girls watch their ideal on TV they wanted to be like them and dress like them because it is how they want to be. This is a major problem in today's society that such young girls are being sexualized so young and practically brain washed to grow up so fast into this sexual symbol for men to fantasize over.

"Not Good Enough For Him?"

The porn industry has really grown and has become very common for people to watch on a regular bases. It is more common for men to engage themselves in watching porn then women.  Not only do lonely men who aren’t in relationships watch this for their pleasure, but men who are in relationships are fascinated in it as well of course. A lot of women who are in relationships tend to look at their man watching porn as a negative. Many women think that they are not good enough for their man because they are not as sexy as the women in porn or that they can not fulfill the sexual needs and acts that the women in porn are performing. In this video I have posted for you, it shows that some men just like to watch it. Because a man watches porn, this doesn’t mean that average everyday women are not good enough. I can see why a lot of women do think this, but a man is a man and men always like to look at things they can’t have. That is why I think porn is so popular because when men watch it, it is fulfilling fantasies that they can not perform themselves  or what their partner wont fulfill for them so they turn to porn. This doesn’t mean in most cases that they lose their sex drive for their significant other, this just is men fantasizing and getting pleasure from something they do not get in their everyday sex life and women can say the same thing about themselves watching porn.   

Double Standards of Sex

Sex in the City has set the bar for women’s sexuality. In shows and in real life, all you usually see is men sleeping with multiple women and getting praised for it, but when a woman does it, she is called a whore or names of that same degree. In Sex in the City, the whole show is based around these four women who have relations with multiple men. Women like this show because it abolishes this double standard we have in our society. Both men and women need sexual release and we shouldn’t  judge people when they do it and who they want to do it with, but that’s what our society does to one another. This should change. No matter what is on TV or how much our society changes in views, this double standard between women having sex with multiple partners being negative and men doing it as being positive, will never change. This show was made to make people look differently about this standard I think and show that women can do what men do an get praised by their friends for doing it as well. 

Pain Is Beauty? Are You Kidding Me!

Surgery is over used an abused. There are more people getting surgeries done to make themselves look pretty and not for true medical issues that are treating to their health or repairing something that cased a deformity. A lot of people in today’s society think surgery is great and will change the way people look at them and look up to them more, but what people don’t realize is the pain and money that comes with surgery. When I was 14 I got into a fatal accident that tore off all my muscles and nerves on the right side of my face and broke most of my bones in my face as well. Over the years I have had 15 or even more reconstruction surgeries that each lasted about 5 hours of surgery.  I never wanted to have any surgeries before this accident happened, but now I have no choice. The pain that I feel after ever surgery is terrible and this is why I don’t understand why someone would want to put themselves through that if they don’t have to! Even after that week or two of pain is over, years down the road that surgery you had may cause you health issues and have long term side effects you didn’t care about when the surgery was taking place. Another huge thing people don’t think about is the risk of something going wrong during surgery and the person dies. Why would you risk death if you don’t really have to?  Not only is surgery painful, but it is very expensive. It amazes me what some people will do for attention and self fulfillment. 

The "New" Housewife?

There has been a lot of change in what we see on TV as a housewife. Being a house wife has changed so much from the old popular 1988 show “Roseanne”. In Roseanne, she was a hard working mother who not only took care of her children, but has an everyday 9am to 5pm job as a factory worker. When the viewers would watch this show, they would see the struggles that Roseanne went through to keep her family happy and keep her sanity. Roseanne was always working hard and still had a good attitude about her life. Even when something wasn’t going right, she kept her cool and found away to overcome it. This is completely different from the housewives shown on TV today. For example, a popular show that viewers watch today is “Real Housewives of New Jersey”. These women in the show are housewives that stay at home to take care of their children and do not work, but it is easier for them to do it because they have very wealthy husbands that want them to stay home and don’t need them to work.  Even though I do like this show, it in my eyes, doesn’t show the true struggles of a real housewife. This is because for these women, it is easy and if they didn’t have children, they would still be doing the same thing they do now.  When people see their life throughout the show, you see the children and that they do take care of them, but the show is more focused on the drama and wealth of the mothers. So it makes me think, why is the show called REAL Housewives of New Jersey when they hardly focus on the housewife aspect of it?

46 Year Old Man Strangles Kid Over Video Game Taunting

Before I start this blog, I want to apologize for the language in the video I have in my blog, but this video not only tells the story of my blog discussion , but the speaker makes very good points about video game violence. On September 30th 2011, A 46-year-old UK man is facing jail time after tracking down and attacking a 13-year-old boy in revenge for taunting the unemployed father of three during a session of Call of Duty: Black Ops on PS3. According to UK's The Daily Mirror, Mark Bradford snapped after a particularly frustrating day of online gaming, and proceeded to hunt down and strangle the young player who had been tormenting him from a local friend's house.(Gamesradar.com). When I read this article, I was in shock that a grown man would do this to a child over a video game and knowing that he had 3 kids about the same age as this boy I think that a lot of people in todays world get caught up in what is fiction and what is reality in this world. When people use these live chats during violent video games, it distorts the brain from what is real and what is not. When you are talking to a live person while playing a game, it makes you feel as if you are really in that video reality world and when they hurt you or kill you, a person takes it seriously. Not only does it distort the brains reasoning of reality, but it sometimes raises the violence level in people. People know killing is not something you can just go around doing, but playing these video games, I think, makes people more acceptable to violence when it happens.
